Spring 2001

When we first moved in we had wonderful plans for our front yard. But we was po' trailer trash. Now, we have a few payments behind us and a few pay raises and can finally afford to do it right.

We used 120 of those very popular, morterless wall-bricks (about 1 ton) to build a multi-level planter. There's 80 cubic feet of potting soil in there (roughly 1600 pounds of dirt!) Over the next couple of days, we will plant close to 200 flowers.

And here's a zoom picture of Lake Stefanisko. The fountain moves about 200 gallons of water an hour. We are still debating the merits of fish. Maybe a concrete turtle would be better. And if we can find water lilies on sale, we may go for them, but not at 6 bucks a piece.

I think we need more plants, there's only 190 of them in there. Of couse 65 of them are bulbs, and aren't blooming yet. Well... it may be enough.
